Your ultimate guide to Nepali wedding attire
What to wear🥻
-
We’d love for guests to join us in Nepali attire such as a Kurtha Suruwal or Saree for women and a Daura Suruwal or Kurtha for men. Traditionally, guests at Nepalese weddings wear warm, bright colours like pink, orange, red, and yellow, adding to the joyous atmosphere of the ceremony.
Please avoid white, black, and dark blue outfits as these are not considered auspicious in Nepali culture.
-
The festivities continue on the next day with an evening celebration at Hotel Shanker—where all colours are welcome!
If you’re more comfortable in Western attire, women can choose to wear dresses, men can wear a suit (tie optional).
-
October in Nepal is pure sunshine. Think dry skies, bright days, and temperatures averaging 20°C (68°F)—perfect for soaking up the sights without a sweat.
If you’re cold-blooded like Mark, bring a light jumper and jacket for the evening because it can cool down a bit.
